Issue #2 - September 2025
Welcome to the second edition of the December 7th Newsletter.
This issue will feature an update on the progress of the new
December 7th game, some info on a non-December 7th project I've been
working on, and the results of the previous issue's poll.
SUNBOX Progress
Sunbox has undergone lots of changes since the last newsletter.
Things changed around and it's smaller but much better now.
Since the project isn't as big anymore, I've decided I'm gonna make
the whole thing myself again like with the first game.
Lots of you reached out after the first newsletter which made me
very happy. I'm super grateful to everyone who emailed me,
but I don't think I'll need a team for this project anymore.
Since the last newsletter, I've been working on the story, character
designs, and music. I've shared a project manifesto I made below:

I'm hoping to finish a prototype for the game this September.
I might share screenshots from it but I don't know. I'd like to
also share some concept art soon if I can produce anything good.
I think the character above's name is Harriet and she's sort
of like a yé-yé singer.
Mixtape
In July my friend Dan came to stay and we recorded a mixtape.
I'm mixing it at the moment and will share it with all of you
when it's out.
Dan is a very good songwriter and I'm quite happy with
the sound we achieved. Dan's music is a bit like Juan Wauters
and The Microphones which is really cool.

Question Time
In the previous edition of the December 7th Newsletter I asked what
your favourite new games were in 2024. I got 29 responses and really
enjoyed reading them all.
Your answers
Most of you said Mouthwashing. I watched a streamer play it but I
didn't play it myself. I hope it got lots of people to check out Pulse.
Psychopomp GOLD also got mentioned lots. I'd never even heard of it
but the way you people described it has me intrigued, so maybe
I'll give it a go one day.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
FFVII Rebirth was my favourite new game I played last year. I enjoy the
FFVII Remake series because I'm very endeared to FFVII's cast and it's nice
to spend (lots) more time with them. I don't have any interesting opinions on
Rebirth so I'll just share the one below.

My opinion: I really liked Elena's rhinestone pistol

No More Question Time
I put this poll section in the previous newsletter because I wanted it to
have an interactive aspect, but at the moment I don't like that idea anymore
so this edition won't have a new poll.

Thanks for reading. Sorry I didn't have much to show here despite there having
been so much time since the last issue. I think this is better than nothing at least.
I'm still unsure if this is the best format for sharing news about my work.
I like the newsletter being hosted on my website with art and photographs and stuff,
but it's also higher pressure than just casually posting on social media.
Maybe I'll try making it to at least 3 editions of the newsletter and then pivot
to only posting on Tumblr or something, or maybe I'll stop posting altogether.
Either way, I've slowed down a lot creatively recently so I don't have as much
to share as I'd like in the first place. I mostly sleep a lot. BYE.
